Maybe not the answer you're looking for but I would spend every second with family and friends.
(Hopefully I could be one of those amazing people who stare death in the eyes and let everyone know the REAL reason I'm not worried. Perhaps I could convince everyone around me that there is a better life than this that I'm about to live and that, if they do not believe the things I am saying, there is a fate much worse than the death that awaits us all.)

Good morning! Here are my thoughts on John 2:

-It's amazing that Jesus is still willing to perform a miracle
despite being weary about his impending sacrifice (4: "Woman, why do you involve me?" Jesus replied. "My hour has not yet come");
-Jesus' disciples had already claimed some faith in him in John 1 by following him, yet it still took them seeing a miracle to gain more faith. Isn't this true in our own lives (I know it is in my own, at least)? We give our lives to follow Jesus, but we continually need some kind of miracle or sign or something to keep our faith going a lot of the time. We continually need Jesus to pick us up off our feet.
-I read several translations of the story of the temple (verse 13), and it goes back and forth between using either a "whip out of cords" (Today's NIV, others) or a "scourge of small cords" (KJV, other older translations) to describe what Jesus used to drive the merchants out of the temple. Which is the more devestating item? I always associated "scourge" with something far worse than just a whip. This also seems a forshadowing of Jesus' own scourging.
-I have some trouble with this passage, simply based on the idea that even though this seems to be Jesus' only somewhat violent (is violent a bad word to use here?) act, it is nonetheless violent, and doesn't seem to show his mercifulness. It cites "The zeal of thine house hath eaten me up", and this seems to associate a bad thing with a man who can do no bad thing. Maybe I'm misinterpreting?

Hope everything is going great!
Your faithful church pianist,
Nick
